Memberconnex welcomes CILT

User- friendly systemsIntent o that are web based for members...

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, NZ (CILT), - a professional membership organisation for over 1,100 members, was in need of a revamp. They needed to reflect a more professional image to the public and prospective new members, and their membership programme had to expand to grow with the organisation.

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport

In the logistics and transport industry, getting things from place to place and on time is vital for business. So when CILT did not have the right membership programme to support its members it knew that it needed help and fast. CILT chose Memberconnex, the member relationship management (MRM) system designed by Cyberglue to help organisations understand, serve and engage their members. Memberconnex was able to get them back on the road with an integrated membership programme and website. CILT President, Peter Snow, states that

" CILT's goals are to have user-friendly systems that are web based for members, and interface with the office systems that are needed to manage a membership institute. Cyberglue's product assists us in achieving that objective."

The need to grow and expand

In the past, CILT had a static website that could only be changed by third parties, causing delays and more input from administration staff to relay crucial information to members. Hosting of the website was not well supported, and, with no back-up, other than what their own staff could provide, the organisation was at risk of losing essential data. Management knew that an un-supported membership system was a financial risk. And they needed to act quickly to eliminate this and secure the continued growth of their organisation. So in consultation with Cyberglue, Memberconnex was implemented, providing CILT with a totally integrated membership database, member portal and public website.

From Hawkes Bay to Fiji

As part of a world-wide organisation committed to providing training, education, events, conferences and support, CILT NZ needed a membership relationship programme that would make it easier for their members to belong, participate and keep pace with changes.

With over six sections in New Zealand, including Fiji, all with different events and news, a central system was needed to keep everyone up-to-date and quickly. With Memberconnex, CILT now has that. Whether they are in Fiji or in the Hawkes Bay, members have access to all the relevant information that they need to stay informed in a rapidly changing industry.

Up-coming events, conferences, training or awards dinners can all be easily and speedily put on the website by CILT staff. No more lengthy delays waiting for an external source to make these changes. As news happens it can be made available to all members.

Marilyn Henderson, Administration Manager for CILT has first hand experience of how this can help her in the day-to-day running of the organisation.

" Straight after our annual Awards Dinner I was able to put all the photos, including captions onto our website. And it was easy to do".

Keeping up with the news

Helping members to keep up with current and relevant news articles about the industry is now as easy as going online. News, both domestic and international are all available to members via an automatic RSS feed from the New Zealand Herald. Provision has also been made for additional feeds to be added.

Easy from start to finish

Now when a member wants to apply to join the organisation the entire process can be done online, freeing administration staff from a lot of time-consuming processing. Membership fees and renewals are also on-line and bookings of events, conferences or training can be made at the touch of a button. Instead of posting in changes, members can now update their own details when necessary on-line, a feature which saves Marilyn Henderson a lot of office time.

In consultation with CILT, Cyberglue designed a comprehensive range of reports that would be relevant to the smooth operating of their organisation.

Marilyn Henderson, finds working with the new system much better and more user-friendly than the legacy system.

" The old system was complicated and I couldn't put new information on it easily. Now I can even make a file and save it to the web site."

Peace of mind

CILT now has peace of mind, knowing that their valuable data is backed-up by Cyberglue and that programme updates are done automatically, freeing up valuable time for CILT to do what it does best - looking after its members.

For an industry that will face many important challenges in the years to come, knowing that its members have a comprehensive and integrated system that is safe and has the potential to grow with the organisation is a challenge that CILT does not have to reface.

CILT now has a professional membership database, member portal and public website that is easy to navigate, is packed with useful and up-to-date information and services for its members and comes with the professional support and back-up provided by Cyberglue.
